The Neurospicy Adult Book Club is an inclusive group for neurodivergent adults ages 18 and older who enjoy stories, creativity, thoughtful conversation, and connection.
Currently offered virtually, the group provides a comfortable place to explore books and share ideas using speech, AAC, typing, gestures, or each member’s preferred communication style.
There is no pressure to read aloud, respond quickly, or interpret a story in one particular way. Members are encouraged to participate at their own pace and in a way that feels comfortable and authentic.
An in-person option may be added in the future as interest grows.
Each gathering is relaxed, welcoming, and shaped by the interests of its members. Activities may include:
• A warm welcome and informal check-in
• Conversations about the story, characters, and themes
• Sharing favorite moments, opinions, and personal connections
• Creative activities inspired by the reading
• Member-selected books, stories, and discussion topics
• Opportunities to connect through shared interests
Members may read independently, listen to an audiobook, use accessible digital materials, or participate primarily through group discussion. The goal is enjoyment and connection—not reading speed or completing assignments.
